Step 2: Homework Assignment

Submit a video of yourself that is no more than 20 minutes in length addressing the following 4 items. Repeat out loud the item, then answer the question as if you were talking with your students in that class.

1. Teach one basic movement (not hip shimmy) and
   1. how to double it
   2. how to travel with it
   3. how you can change height with it
   4. how you can layer some other movement over it
2. Take a simple piece of music (something that does not change rhythms). Choose 4 movements and create a beginner-level combination using 3 veil techniques with it. Dance it 3 times, while calling out the movements as you would in class.
3. Take a simple piece of music (something that does not change rhythms). Play the ‘3’ cymbal pattern to it slowly. Play the cymbal pattern several times standing still. Then add a movement with it several times. Then play the pattern faster several times over that same movement. Be sure to call out the movements and the pattern as you would in class.
4. Take 4 movements and create a beginner-level combination playing 3 cymbal patterns with it. Keep the cymbal playing slow, not fast. If one of your patterns is the ‘2’ pattern, go ahead and play that fast. Dance the combination 3 times, while calling out the movements and the patterns as you would in class.

Upload your documents to your favorite cloud storage provider and create a shared link. Once the link has been created, submit that link in the text box on the Homework Assignment.
