Step 4: Homework Assignment

Select a song that you think is great for a solo dance routine at the beginner level. The song should be less than 5 minutes long. The routine will not use any accessories (for e.g., no veil or finger cymbals).

• Identify the song by artist/album/track.
• Outline the song and submit a copy of your outline as part of this assignment.
• Choreograph the song for beginner level in such a way that you could teach it within 6 class hours.
• Film yourself performing the dance.
• Then film yourself performing it again, but this time call out the movements as you would do if you had students following along behind you.

Your homework assignment is not complete until you have emailed your outline and submitted a video with yourself performing it twice (as described above).

Please upload the video to YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive, etc. 

Upload your documents to your favorite cloud storage provider and create a shared link. Once the link has been created, submit that link in the text box on the Homework Assignment.
